home comforts

healthy breakfast / amazing spanish chicken, my cat likes to sit in the bath / new buys

What a week! I've been dying to blog all week, but my landlord has managed to have an argument with our internet provider and get us cut off, so I've been without internet all week! We've just been provided with a dongle so normal posting should hopefully resume.

After an incredibly stressful week I decided to go home for the weekend to de-stress, which led to me going out for food on friday with my mum, then again on saturday with my dad to celebrate his new job. Spoilt! The spanish chicken pictured above was especially delicious, as was the sticky ginger toffee cake I managed to scoff before picturing!

I'm currently spending most of my time in the library working on assignments, as I'm sure a lot of people are at the minute! It'll all be over soon though!

Manchester Fashion Week - All Saints

Last Thursday I was lucky enough to be invited to Manchester Fashion Week for 'The Avenue' day, which consisted of shows by Brooks Brothers, All Saints, Ted Baker, Flannels and Mulberry. The whole week took place in the up and coming area of Spinningfields, which was the perfect place to host such an event.

The All Saints show was probably my favourite of the day, with some stunning outfits and even more stunning models. Particular favourites include the peach shorts and jumper, and the denim shorts with the printed shirt. I'm finding it difficult to restrain myself from buying the shirt!

I had a lovely day, and met some great bloggers, so thanks to MCR Fashion week for having me and heres to the next one!

Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil

Shu Uemura Skin Purifier Cleansing Oil £28 Harvey Nichols

I bought this a few weeks ago, and have been giving it a good try before writing my review. I bought this as I'd seen a lot of rave reviews, so my expectations were probably quite high, so I'm not quite sure what to make of this product.

I'm going to start off my saying first off all that it is possibly the best product I've ever used at taking make-up off. It literally dissolved the make-up, making it so easy to get all the mascara and eye make-up off, with no scrubbing at all. I really don't think I could use anything else in taking off my eye make-up anymore, as this has just made it so easy. The other positive about this is that it does make my skin super soft.

However, and I hate saying this because after all the hype (and the price!) I was really excited to try this out, I just don't think it's anything special. I feel the overall look of my skin hasn't improved at all, and my forehead seems to be worse if anything. I may have been expecting miracles, but from what I've heard I was wanting brighter, more even skin, and that didn't even slightly happen.

Overall this is a nice product, but I don't think I'll be repurchasing as for the price I thought it would be a lot better.

chocolate overdose

the stash I'll be working my way through for the next few weeks days!

Long time no blog! I seem to have taken an unintentional blogging break, which extended mostly to twitter as well, so I've been pretty AWOL! I returned to Leeds yesterday after a lovely few days at home which consisted of a massive party for my mums birthday, lots of food, movies, an epic game of monopoly, easter egg hunt and lunch at the words best chippy.

Today brought me back to reality, with a day on placement and the reminder of impending deadlines! I did, however, get an excited email with the news that I'll be going to Manchester Fashion week on Thursday. Anyone else going?

Hope everyone had a lovely easter!
