Jack Rabbits Pottery, Leeds

When thinkmoney challenged me to share a hidden gem of Leeds that you can do for under £40, it took me a while to decide what to share. Not because I couldn't think of anything to share, but because Leeds is full of so many great options! My first thought was to talk about one of my favourite food finds, but with so much to choose from I decided to stay away from food, which is where Jack Rabbits came in, after a glowing recommendation from a colleague.

Situated in Oakwood, Jack Rabbits is a pottery studio where you can paint a range of pottery, from bowls, vases, plates to cute little figures. For a £5 studio fee plus the cost of the pottery, you get two hours to let your creative side roam free, and relax whilst designing your very own pottery. With hot drinks and a range of cakes on offer, it's a great activity for children and adults alike.

We started of by painting a coaster each for our new glass coffee table, and an hour and 15 minutes later these we had our first pieces. Mine took a lot longer than I thought it would, mainly because I was so scared of making a mistake! We followed up by making a bowl (me), and a much more artistic salt bowl from Tom. As you can see, there's definitely room for improvement with my artistic skills, but I'm still really pleased with the outcome!

If you have a spare morning or afternoon, I couldn't recommend Jack Rabbits more highly. The team are fantastic, and it was great to just relax and get creative for a couple of hours. Plus, it's such good value for money and you walk away with some nice home wear at the end of it!
