"Comparison-itis" is a disease that will stop you in your tracks from stepping outside you comfort zone!
How do I know? Because I have suffered from it for years...... It has taken many dreams and squashed them before they could see the light of day. It has stifled my growth, my power and the impact I have always wanted to make in the lives of others. It's rooted in FEAR and runs quite parallel to "what will other's think - itis." It hasn't been my friend. It hasn't kept me safe, protected or fulfilled. It's kept me stagnant, stuck and small.
It's not until you realize that others accomplishments and achievements and what they think of you, HAVE NOTHING to do with your value or worth in the world, can you move from a place of merely existing to living.
I was speaking with a woman earlier today and she's on the cusp of a breakthrough. She wants so badly to create the next chapter of her life and re-write the next 30 years, however she's so afraid of "not doing it right" or "good enough" or what her family and friends think. This has been such a developed pattern that she literally has put everyone else ahead of herself out of fear and the cost??? The cost is HUGE. Dreams unrealized, and possibility halted.
Stop and take stock of your life - Are you happy? Truly happy? Are you living the life you've always imagined or are you playing it safe on the sidelines? What would be possible if you stopped concerning yourself with everyone else and listened to your heart?
I pray that each person is able to connect to their true self, to heal from the wounds that have held them back and to design a life of their choosing.
You can start today! I was inspired this morning by a Danielle Laporte post about creating a "stop doing" list as opposed to a "to do list."
What do you need to stop doing today that will bring you 1 step closer to breaking through to more fulfillment in your life?
